This enormous touch screen allows visitors of the World Heritage Centre Hildesheim, to explore all of UNESCO’s world heritage sites on one map. For every site, the user can find information about cultural and historic relevance, current endangerment and a gallery of photos. In order to appropriately portrait each of the sometimes very densely packed sites, a special interaction concept was developed for the 1.5m wide touch screen. The high resolution satellite image that does not fit into graphics memory is being dynamically reloaded.
